Tai Chi

 

  • Tai chi is martial art in the form of meditative exercises for the body, based on the ancient Chinese Tao philosophy. Tai chi is known as “moving meditation" – as it involves slow, smooth, gentle body movements with awareness and deep breathing.  The exercises are performed to improve the circulation of the energy “chi’ within the body, which will enhance the health and vitality of the person. It also helps to achieve mental and physical relaxation with peace and wellness.
  • All different styles of exercise involve performing of slow, relaxed and graceful movements, each flowing in to the next, with balance and concentration, while breathing deeply.
  • Regular practicing of tai chi helps people to:

    • Improve balance with reducing risk of falls especially in elderly person
