Chiropractic

  • Chiropractic is a complementary medicine based on the hypothesis that the misalignment or subluxation of spinal cord and joints of the body, affects/interferes body’s natural self healing ability. The goal of treatment is to realign the spine and restore the spinal and joint movement through various treatment approaches. The modern chiropractic therapy is developed by Iowan Daniel David Palmer, who gave the theory of connection between spinal cord alignment and the level of health.
  • A chiropractor (qualified practitioner of chiropractic), applies a sudden force to a stiff joint to extend it beyond its normal range with the hands, to promote the proper movement and alignment of the specific joint. The popping or cracking sound can be heard during the manipulation of spine or other joints. Other approaches, combined with manipulation are:
    • Heat and ice
    • Electrical stimulation
    • Rest
    • Rehabilitative exercise
    • Counseling about diet, weight loss, and other lifestyle factors
    • Dietary supplements
  • Chiropractic is beneficial for the patients suffering from:
    • Low backache
    • Neck pain
    • Headache
  • Chiropractic helps person to avoid chronic joint pain and prevent the long term physical complications. Patient may have side effect and risk depending on the type of chiropractic treatment used.
  • Chiropractic is one of the largest alternative medicines practiced in U.S. and significantly popular in UK and Australia.
