Hydrotherapy

 

  • Every living creature needs water to survive, in hydrotherapy water is used for the therapeutic purpose- to revitalize, maintain and restore the health. Father Sebastian Kneipp is considered as a father of Hydrotherapy who gave the concept of using water to eliminate waste from the body for treating varied diseases. The physiological properties of both hot and cold water are used as a base of treatment in hydrotherapy. Hot relaxes the body with slowing down the activity of internal organs while cold stimulates and revitalizes with increased internal activity.
  • One can have hydrotherapy treatments at health spas or at home as self care. Different treatments are used depending on the diseased conditions, including:
