Excerpts from Dr Prem's Guidebook - Hospital Safety and Security for Patient
The hospitals must be well equipped to handle natural and other kinds of disasters. Some of the safety measures that hospitals must have are fire safety, protection against lightning and other natural disasters. There should be a proper system that can alert patients in case of an accident or emergency. Similarly, the hospital must have a well designed exit. The exit plan of the hospital must be clear to the patients and to their relatives. Illuminated exit signs should be visible at all times. The hospital must have regular checkups conducted of the fire safety system.
