Compared to other regions in Europe, the medical tourism industry in Greece is still very new and underdeveloped. However, Greece has an edge over other regions as it is already a very established tourist destination. Million of travelers come to Greece every year in order to get a glimpse of its famous ruins and other historical attractions.

By developing the healthcare industry and offering high quality care, Greece has the potential to be a very positive addition to the medical tourism sector as it is an ideal destination for tourists to combine a vacation in Greece with high quality health services as well.
