Globalization of Healthcare is deeply controversial. Supporters of globalization argue that it allows citizens of poor countries to get good quality of medical care, and to develop economically and raise their standards of living. On the other hands, challengers of globalization claim that the creation of an unrestricted international free market has benefited multinational corporations in the Western world at the expense of local enterprises, local cultures, and common people. Due to these reasons, Globalization in Healthcare has faced Resistance to globalization has therefore taken shape both at a popular and at a governmental level as people and governments try to manage the flow of capital, labour, goods, and ideas that constitute the current wave of globalization.

Many of the improvements that have taken place in human health over the past 50 years are at least in part due to globalization, but there are also growing risks that derive from the speed with which people, pathogens, and models of behaviour can now flow around the globe.

 

The challenge before us is to harness the forces that drive globalization and to assure that the protection and promotion of human health play a central role in the rules which are established to regulate the global marketplace.

 

Global health professionals and advocates need to organize themselves as the business community has already done to look for opportunities for significant improvements in the health of the poor.

 

To find the right balance between benefits and costs associated with globalization, citizens of all nations need to understand how globalization works and the policy choices facing them and their societies.
