Healthcare System in Malaysia

The healthcare in Malaysia is mainly under the responsibility of the government's Ministry of Health. Malaysia offers an efficient and widespread system of health care consisting of both government-run universal healthcare and a co-existing private healthcare.

About 80 per cent of healthcare services are provided by the public sector, still considered as one of the best in the region. The public sector is heavily subsidized and focuses on preventive health as well as rehabilitative and curative care at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels.

The rapidly-growing private sector, on the other hand, offers curative and rehabilitative services and is financed strictly on a non-subsidized, fee-for-service basis.


Quality of Healthcare in Malaysia

Malaysia boasts of a very comprehensive range of the health services. The extensive investments are being made to ensure all the medical centers equipped with modern facilities and highly experienced professionals. The internationally accredited hospitals of Malaysia, cater to the medical tourists are capable of handling and providing the latest techniques and procedures.
